1. In the insulin release test, the fasting basal plasma insulin was about 35 ~ 145pmol/I in normal subjects. After oral administration of 75g anhydrous glucose (or steamed bread made with 100g standard flour) for 5 ~ 20mU/l, the plasma insulin increased to its peak value in 30 ~ 60 minutes, the peak value was 5 ~ 10 times of the base value, and recovered to the base level in 3 ~ 4 hours. This study reflects the basic and glucose-mediated insulin release function. The determination of insulin is interfered by insulin antibody in serum and exogenous insulin.
2. The release test method of c-peptide is the same as above. Base value not less than 400 PMOL/i. , the peak time is the same as above, the peak value is 5 ~ 6 times of the base value. It also reflects the basal and glucose-mediated insulin release function. The determination of c-peptide was not influenced by insulin antibody and exogenous insulin in serum.
3. Other methods to measure B cell function, such as intravenous glucose-insulin release test to understand the first phase of insulin release, glucagon-c peptide stimulation test to reflect a cell reserve function, etc. , may choose according to the patient’s concrete situation and the examination goal.
